Do I need a trial?

A trial is essential for the bride, the trial will ensure that you are happy with how you will look on the day, also, to time how long the look will take for timing on the day, so all runs smoothly.

When do I have a trial?

I recommend 6-12 weeks before your wedding day.

This is just a guideline. Please note bridal season can be very busy, so best to pre-book for your trial in advance if you can.

Where does my trial take place?

I have a studio set up if you would prefer to travel to me, or I can travel to you.

What do I need for my trial?

Items

Pictures of bridal dress and the theme of the wedding. I.e. colours of flowers and style of dresses. Your tiara, or headpiece, or decorative pins and veil. Prints or cuttings from magazines for hair and make-up ideas that you like. (I do carry inspirational hair and make-up images to help you if you are unsure.)

If you would prefer to email me your ideas before your trial for me to prepare, this is good for large bridal parties. On your trial, please arrive with clean, dry hair, and avoid hair straightening irons that day if you would like curl or wave in hair.

How long will my trial last?

You will have a consultation first. A trial will roughly take 2 hours for hair and make-up for the bride. I will go through your look step-by-step so you can see the look develop and adjust if needed. Please allow 1 extra hour for each additional person thereafter. Any adjustments will be made until you are 100% happy.

On the day, what happens?

I will arrive at your wedding venue with plenty of time to set-up and start. On this occasion, the bride goes last so that the make-up is at its freshest. I will stay with you until you are ready to leave for your wedding, or happy for me to go. You will have a cutting from the lipstick of choice, in a sealed pot, so you can retouch throughout your day, or purchase details if you choose to buy.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

To secure your wedding day booking, a deposit is required. This is redeemable off your total fee on your wedding day. The deposit is non-refundable, should you cancel your booking. Please contact me if you wish to secure your wedding date before your trial, I will send you a quote and booking forms which will need to be completed and returned along with your deposit to me. Only when I have received this, will I hold your wedding date. Trial fee is paid on the trial date only. You can pay your deposit at the end of the trial if you choose to secure your wedding date ASAP. I only accept cash payment for the trial fees and the wedding day fees. I only accept a cheque for the deposit to secure your wedding day booking if sent by post.

Additional Availability.

I am available for weekday weddings also.

(Disclaimer)

What happens if I am ill or injured on the day.

In the extremely unlikely event that I am ill, injured or any other cause beyond my control, I will do my very best to find you a alternative hair and make-up artist. If, however, this is not possible then a full refund of your deposit will be issued.

*Please not that this has never happened before.*
